My recommendation is that first sourcing experiences should be done with the assistance of either a fellow inventor who has sourced overseas before, or an international trade consultant who can guide you through the numerous vital details that need to be addressed, such as quality control, independent safety / testing labs, US Customs and duties, detailed purchase order contracts, sampling, shipment and import arrangements and so on. I love the idea of working overseas, maybe even going there some day. Do you know if it is safe for an inventor to get on a plane and visit manufacturers in China? Funny enough...my husband worries Lisa Lloyd
