Wow, great questions JT, let's see if I can tackle all in one post.
How did you get started?
Necessity is the mother of invention. I had an idea and started calling people who had invented things in the past. The internet was not available to me back then

How many models and working demos did you create along the way?
It usually takes 3 generations to get to the point I feel comfortable presenting it to companies. I did all my models with home made goods, I had to hire someone one time (the sprayer) because it was too complicated to do myself.
How did you get in contact with the production label you found to sell your invention - was it through marketing, trade shows, or just pounding the pavement?
I go straight to the stores that sell similar items. Then to the isle that my product would sell in. Finally, I look at who those distributors are on the back of the packaging and contact them. Trade shows are a GREAT way to meet many of them at one time and pitch your product.
How did you go internationally?
By licensing to international companies

And, do you use the French Twister yourself?
Not anymore

I am VERY proud of the product though! My hair has been too short to wear it for years now.
Good luck! Sorry for the delay in responding, this one fell through the cracks.
