New Food Product 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hello to all. I'm very new to the site, so I hope I'm not asking this in the wrong spot.

I have an unbelieveably good food product but do not know where to start or who to ask.

The product is unique in the fact that it is a mustard _base_d, spicy, tangy, and sweet cole slaw that I have served for many years. Everyone who tastes it cannot believe the uniqueness of the flavor. I have friends who have insisted on my making it for them to bring to LSU tailgate parties in Baton Rouge. Any Bar-B-Q we are invited to they insist on "The Slaw" coming as well. I have served it time and time again at house pool parties, get togethers, holidays, etc.

The slaw can be eaten by itself, or makes a fantastic topping for hot dogs, sausage dogs, hamburgers, any type of Bar-B-Q sandwich, baked beans, you name it.....it works well with all of it. How would I go about selling it????

This is a tough one because food is not really an invention. Most "formulas" are kept secret, so a patent is not applied for. Recipes can be copyrighted, but that can be done as simply as adding the circle c to your instructions. So, if I understand your question, to sell it is as simple as getting a business license and hitting the streets. If it goes well and you would like to build more then a boutique business, then ultimately you could sell the company and cash out. In the mean time, tail-gate parties, getting the word out and maybe even selling direct to restaurants would be a good start.

Hope that helps!
