Senator Kent Conrad on Innovation
January 26th, 2008
Here is our interview of Senator Kent Conrad, one of the big supporters of Marketplace for Entrepreneurs. FYI, the North Plains Inventors Congress is just one piece of the Marketplace event (see earlier blog). For more videos visit our news room or our youtube site.

This interview buzzed me off. I like to see senators talking about the internet and how you can produce despite where you live. The senator spoke of globalization, but the reverse is also true. We can produce here in our small towns. We have an under utilized labor force. I wince when I see our fine inventor minds making Elvis heads that sing when we have crying needs to reduce carbon emissions. We need ways to move water to areas that need it, but I’m jumping into other areas.
It was a good interview, but don’t forget, we not only need to find a market for some product that pops up in our minds; we need to think beyond that to answer crying needs in our present world and environment. Answer a need and make it affordable, and the market will present itself.
